Event overview
Invited by Penrite, Olga created a live painting for its centenary gala at the Royal Exhibition Building in Melbourne, with 1,000 guests gathered to celebrate 100 years.
The canvas brought together significant people, places, vehicles and symbols from the company’s story.
The concept & creative approach
Olga suggested a creative collage of significant elements and symbols to reflect the centenary theme. The subject was developed collaboratively with the Penrite team, whose input helped shape the proposed composition.

The brief
Bring Penrite’s centenary story together in one painting, through a collage of elements chosen with the team.
The live event painting experience
From 5:00 to 10:00pm, guests could watch the painting develop, gather around the canvas and return throughout the evening to see its progress. Many came back several times.
Members of the Dymond family involved in the company, including Penrite owner Margaret Dymond, added their own marks to the canvas with Olga’s guidance. Painting participation was reserved for those family members, while all guests could observe.
Guests could also purchase prints of the finished artwork for charity through an initiative organised during the event.
