A practical guide
Original paintings of meaningful occasions, made in the company of the people who give them life.

A note from the artist
I'm Olga, a Melbourne-based painter. I'm interested in atmosphere, movement and the feeling of being in a place.
At an event, the painting grows in the company of the people it will remember.

Outside the studio
The setting gives me a starting point. Then come the changing light, the movement of guests, and the small details that make an occasion its own.

Some of the work is observation; some of it is conversation. Both find their way into the painting.

Field notes · Halcyon Jardin
For the opening of the Halcyon Jardin Clubhouse, I began with the architecture, then added colour, atmosphere and the residents who would bring the space to life.

The painting was completed and varnished that evening. It now hangs in the clubhouse, among the people it depicts.

Notes on the process
We discuss the occasion, the setting and the composition, considering the story you want the painting to tell.
I work in layers, responding to changing light, movement and the people around me.
Many paintings return to the studio; some are completed at the event. The approach is agreed around your brief.
For live painting, collaborative experiences and event commissions, begin with a conversation.
